Central & South America COVID Restrictions

Detailed intelligence available. – This is just a reminder that this operational update provides a summary overview to help you assess if entry is feasible. It does not provide details on pre-arrival testing requirements, forms, and other common requirements for entry that are not major blockers for most trips.

Information provided below is for vaccinated travelers, which generally have the fewest restrictions to navigate.

  • Our FBOs and ground handling offices in ArgentinaBrazilChileCosta RicaMexico, and Venezuela are still operational and supporting missions.
  • Argentina – Open. Proof of medical insurance is required. Crew must be vaccinated or they must quarantine the entire length of their stay. Universal Aviation Argentina can assist.
  • Belize – Open. Health insurance coverage required for passengers.
  • Bolivia – U.S. passengers allowed entry for business. Travel health insurance required.
  • Brazil – Open. Universal Aviation Brazil is ready to support you.
  • Chile – Foreign passengers are allowed and can enter only at SCCI, SCDA, SCFA, and SCEL airports. Need travel medical insurance and must self-isolate until on-arrival COVID test results are known. Random selection for on-arrival testing in effect. Universal Aviation Chile is staying on top of the latest.
  • Colombia – Open. All passengers AND crew require proof of vaccination. CHECK MIG form required on the Colombian Immigration website.
  • Costa Rica – Open. Travel insurance and health pass requirement ends April 1.
  • Ecuador – Open. Active crew traveling to the Galapagos Islands will need to comply with the same rules as passengers.
  • El Salvador – Open.
  • Falkland Islands – Business flights require special invitation letter. Quarantine and periodic COVID testing required, no exemptions. Leisure flights possible if transiting direct to a private vessel. Contact locator form required. Adequate aeromedical insurance is recommended.
  • French Guiana – Fully-vaccinated individuals can now enter French Guiana without a compelling reason for travel. Pre-arrival test, on arrival test, and a 7-day quarantine are all required.
  • Guatemala – Open. Health screening on arrival.
  • Guyana – Open. Subject to health screening on arrival.
  • Honduras – Open for business flights.
  • Nicaragua – Open. Local contact and aircraft sanitization certificate required.
  • Panama – Open.
  • Paraguay – Open.
  • Peru – Open.
  • Suriname – Open.
  • Uruguay – Open. COVID testing required upon arrival. Medical insurance with COVID-19 coverage is required.
  • Venezuela – Accessible with approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Quarantine at government facility required, up to 14 days. Aircraft Disinfection is required.
